Mimi Liberté
His first experience in a fashion house was as a teenager, at the age of 15, with Yves Saint Laurent, to whom he presented print designs, and then for Maud Frizon and Dorothée Bis1,2.
He created a collection in his own name in 1975. In 1977, he worked with the director Bob Wilson and designed stage costumes for him. And in 1981, he launched the brand “Michel Klein “, as well as perfumes a few years later.
In 1989, Michel Klein signed an agreement with the Japanese company Itokin, followed by the opening of boutiques in that country. In this context, he created women’s, men’s and children’s ready-to-wear and accessory lines under various brands. In 1993, he contributed to the Guy Laroche fashion house, with the aim of creating the haute couture of this house after the departure of Angelo Tarlazzi. He also continued to launch brands such as “Mimi Liberté” in 2017.
